Negashi frowned after Paul had stolen his witch and shimmered away.
''So you took the witch.'' Negashi pondered aloud, tapping his chin incredously.

''Took the witch, but I'm sure if you're a 'new' demon, you probably trasure this store even a little. I haven't heard of you being vastly wealthy and owning a chain of shops. You probably sleep in this dump, too..'' Negashi hopped off the counter onto his feet with a smile.

''You're probably outside with the Witch, somewhere near.. where you can shimmer back in an instant to try and vanquish me.''

''But I don't want you, I want the witch.'' Negashi pouted, turning and looking around the room for his demonic opponent and his prey.

Negashi blinked from the spot as he turned his head, still surveying the room.
Appearing in a corner of the room, he let off his powerful spray of flames from his palms.

''You'll have to come within the next few minutes to save your shop from becoming a pile of ash.'' Negashi murmered, letting the flames crawl across the room at a fast speed, small explosions occuring across the tougher cabinets and shelves as the demonic flames blew them up, as if seeing the tougher substances as a threat.

I don't know why I spend so much time ordering other demons to kill witches and cowardly demons for me. It's so much fun doing it myself.. Negashi suddenly though, feeling that smidge more powerful that he had a few moments ago.

Chaos is too sweet.

Liam a bit surprised of Paul's shimmer, looked around. He knew what had happened, it just never happened to him before. He turned back to look at Paul and looked around. They were still in the store, no doubt. He then thought of why he would shimmer him here. Liam wanted to go, he really did, but that's when the explosions came, along with the suffocating smell of smoke. Paul's store was on fire.

He said nothing as he looked at Paul. He hadn't used any of his demonic powers yet. He wondered whether he was a controlled reformed demon who could use his powers and stay good or an unbalanced one who if did use their demonic powers were one step closer to becoming evil again.

"I can help," he said for the first time in his life, feeling like he had become the innocent instead. He didn't like the feeling. He was witch. But that demon was pretty powerful. Nonetheless, Liam wanted to see Negashi shoot up in flames right in front of him. This was starting to get personal.

Liam turned again to survey the room but that's when the pain shot through his arm. He yelped and held it. His mind wanted to help, but his body wanted to faint. Liam had been through worse though...at least that's what he wanted to believe. He didn't know what to do. As a gut reaction, a vanquishing spell was already in his head. But he needed to get close enough to say it. And if he did, would he be powerful enough to actually vanquish him.

"No, you can't help" Paul said bluntly "He's an Upper Level demon - Only a potion involving his flesh will kill him." Paul had never met Negashi before, both in his demon and reformed demon days but he could sense power and as an upper level demon himself, he could sense his own. As the smell of smoke entered his nostrils, Paul knew what Negashi was doing and he thought 'How stupid of him....' knowing full well what they had all done in this store, even if Liam and Negashi didn't. He knew, which meant someone else knew and it wouldn't be long before they came.

As Liam yelped in pain, it sealed the decison in Paul's mind of what he had to do. Hearing his walkie talkie in the background, he knew the local police department were doing their security checks which they did regularly when stores were open. It was closing time which meant the last check and he had to answer it, or else they would be coming very quickly to check on him and his store. 'Not that they could stop him.....' he thought, thinking of mortals with guns up against a demon.

Taking Liam lightly by his uninjured arm he spoke quietly but assertively. "Just go. Go to the hospital. You don't want to be in the middle of this." Looking quickly behind his shoulder and through the small opening of the store room door, Paul peered into his shop and saw the damage that Negashi was doing. 'Idiot..' he thought, before turning back to Liam to see what decision he had come too.

Inside Liam was raging with anger. "All I wanted was some d**n blades and now I'm standing here talking to a demon...no offense...and my arm is killing me, while the demon who did it, is practically gloating in the other room as he destroys your store and not to mention that he is probably the strongest I've ever come across. I'm tired, it's late, I'm hurt, and even though I want to leave and get the heck out of here, I feel like there's nothing I can do to help, and when you tell me that there isn't, it makes me feel more of an imposter. I've never walked away from a fight, and I'm not starting now,"

Liam's built-up emotions and thought on the situation had finally found a portal and came out. This was Liam's strong side, the part of him which got him to where he was today. Although sometimes, it would help if it came out more often. He looked at Paul breathing heavier, whether it was the smoke, or his arm was unclear, and said, "Got an athame back here," it was clear what was in his head but it was obviously almost impossible for him to get a slice of Negashi's flesh in the middle of a fire, with his arm injured. Liam was sometimes too stubborn for his own good.

As Negashi stood in the now dark shop, he heard a distant thump over the crackling of the flames.
As a dark figure entered the shop-- no, several of them, Negashi realized it would be humans.
Ah, humans. Probably the 'fire brigade'. I would be surprised if ambulances were parked outside at the moment. Negashi smirked at the thought, tempted to blink outside and destroy the filthy humans.

Ah, but that would be exposure. Which wouldn't be good.
And also, I doubt I will be fighting any cowardly demons nor any witches today, with so many humans around..
Negashi thought, as a world of 'if's' hit him.

The thought that the demon and the witch would be long gone, and Negashi's sitting in a flaming room with mortals like a fool. That the witch and the Demon could be exchanging knowledge on upper-level demons and their weaknesses.

Darn you, foolish beings. I am the more powerful one. Verse me, one on one. Two on one. Three on one. I do not care, I can defeat you. Disgusting beings.. how dare you hide from me, and when I least suspect it, leap out and vanquish me. Ah, but no, you won't be doing that to me. I have seen too many demons be vanquished by weak witches to make that mistake myself. I will come back later, when I have the element of surprise, and destroy you both with my strength alone. That, will teach you some respect.. Negashi frowned, letting off a stream of bright flames through the barrage of flames already around him in the direction of the firefighters.

Instantly the stream of flames connected with one, blowing him up.
Silly mortals would just think that something blew up and killed him. Oh well, I best not kill another. It could raise questions. Negashi blinked away at the thought before he could have of been seen, allowing the mortals to fight the fire and search for any survivors.

(Probably continuing in Underworld..)

((Patrick: Despite you have posted as Liam elsewhere, I will have to continue posting as Paul in here with Liam in the store as you have not posted after Negashi saying Liam has left, and as Negashi posted saying the firemen have arrived you cannot edit your post above to correct this.

You will have to join up this thread with Negashi's Lair thread once you have finished here and may have to edit some of your post, so not to break continuity))

"No, I haven't got an athame back here" Paul spoke to Liam, not raising his voice as tempted as he was after the boy's outburst. Even though he knew he could conjure one, Paul didn't want too - He had failed to answer to answer his walkie talkie and the various security systems in his store would have already alerted the emergency services to what was taking place. He didn't need further exposure. He had had enough already and he could use it to his advantage.

As a small smile bounced on his lips at this thought, Paul heard a large crash and shouting coming from the entrance of his store. Hearing the shouts of the firemen, Paul looked around himself and saw the piece of equipment he needed to protect himself and everybody else. Looking at Liam, Paul spoke to him in a reassuring voice "Everything is going to be okay. I know what I am doing. This is not the first time this has happened, despite the store looking fine when you came in. I would always be closed and repairing my store because of demons otherwise, but I don't. They never learn."

Taking a small pause as he allowed Liam to comtemplate what and who he was getting at, Paul heard a huge blast erupt from his store and he jumped slightly from the noise. "Just trust me. .... Go." He spoke once again, but in a more authoritive tone. They both needed to get out, but Paul needed to get something first.

(( Okay, I thought that it had ended with that last post...my bad))

Liam nodded looking at Paul a glint of helplessness in his eyes, hidden with anger. He wanted to help but his arm was killing him. He coughed, and took a step back. He couldn't fight the smoke like a demon could. He was going to have serious lung problems if he didn't leave now. He eyed Paul and sighed heavily as he covered his mouth with his good hand.

"Thanks," he said not really appreciative of the fact that he had lost. He grabbed his arm and reluctantly exited the store to meet the people outside.

As the firemen burst in with hoses trying to get rid of the flames, Paul knew that the beings he had hoped would help him, weren't coming. Its happened to many times and this time, too much has happened, too fast for them to do anything. Too much work.

Sighing as he watched his shop engulf with flames, Paul never wanted to use his back-up plan - It would take him to a place he didn't want to go back too. But to get revenge, in some form of way he would have to. He would have to do the very thing that the beings he was waiting for, stopped from happening. Even though good and eveil also had their own ways.

Looking around the back room from which he stood, Paul spotted the piece of equipment that held the key to his battle, and as he had always been prepared for this eventuality he had the researves as well. Realising he was running out of time, Paul ran to the equipment and as fast as he could, he pulled it from the socket knowing the contents inside would remain safe.

Checking his surroundings and the progress of the firefighters, Paul glutched the item in question in his arms before shimmering out.
